The term "down bad" gets thrown around a lot. But how do you mathematically distinguish dedication from delusion? That is where the Delusion Index comes in.
The Mathematical Formula
The Delusion Index compiles multiple conversational metrics to evaluate asymmetry. Specifically, it weights:
- Response Lag Discrepancy: How much faster do you reply than they do? If you reply in 2 minutes and they reply in 4 hours, that is a 120x imbalance.
- Initiation Share: Who starts the conversation after a lull of 12+ hours? If you initiate 90% of the conversations, you are pulling a cart with no wheels.
- Yap Asymmetry: The ratio of total characters sent. If you have written a mini-novel and they reply in single syllables, the yapping is entirely one-sided.
Decoding Your Score
The Delusion Index rates dynamics on a scale from 0 to 100:
- 0 - 20 (Secure Connection): Healthy mirroring. Effort is matched, response lag is symmetric, and yapping is collaborative.
- 21 - 50 (Slight Orbit): Minor asymmetry. One person is putting in slightly more effort, but the connection remains responsive.
- 51 - 80 (Chasing a Ghost): Severe asymmetry. You are doing the heavy lifting while they send dry crumbs. Time to step back.
- 81+ (Down Bad): Extreme delusion. Multiple double texts, massive lag gaps, and single-emoji replies. The data says: abort mission.
Data-Driven Clarity
Dating involves emotion, which makes it easy to overlook red flags. The Delusion Index removes the emotional guessing game by looking at the hard, aggregated numbers. Numbers do not have crushes—they tell the absolute truth.
